Promote and safeguard the lawful use of firearms and air weapons for sporting and recreational purposes in the United Kingdom amongst all sections of the community.

Co-ordinate and present the views of member Associations and other bodies concerned with the lawful manufacture and use of firearms, air weapons and ammunition in the United Kingdom in any negotiations or on any other appropriate occasion in such a manner as the Council may, in its discretion, see fit.

Formulate and keep under review a national policy for the lawful use of firearms and air weapons.
